This July I was asked to rebrand the Gaslight Cafe here in Louisbourg. I won't lie, I darn near haunt this place. I'm a coffee nut, and they make the best in town. To say I was excited to do the rebranding was an understatement, (just think of the research coffees!). I started out with some sketches, working out the idea behind the lantern. This past May I got to work with Cara Prendegrast of Cara's Cake's. She had a vision of a watercolor logo showcasing her drip cakes. I couldn't wait to start!  I started with watercolor and a brush, working through a variety of cake ideas. We had to work through what the end cake and flowers should look like, as well as the dome. Once the watercolor was decided on, I vectorized it and chose fonts to pair it with. Thursday, April 26th was the opening day of the Louisbourg Market, an artisan market which was organized for various cruise ship visits where the passengers will be visiting our community.  Unfortunately the morning of the market we discovered that the first cruise ship had to turn around due to rough waters preventing the ship from docking. But that didn't impact the market! What an amazing turn out from the community! I couldn't believe that, on a Thursday afternoon of all days, there was such an outpour of support. Super excited to announce that i'll be attending the Reserve Mines Mother's Day Shopping Party! It will be held on May 5th from 11am -3pm. I attended the last market organized by the same group of ladies last month, and it was really well organized. A wonderful group of vendors and a good variety. This was a big week for me, launched my website (yay!), made a few sales as a direct result, and designed the branding for the soon to open Louisbourg Market (Formally the Louisbourg Artisan and Farmers Market).
