The Portage Market

Cory Moore of Nova Soapia contacted me about a month ago with news of a outdoor market he was developing in Sydney Forks. He's hand built a variety of unique vendor spaces in the back yard of his beautiful, soap business. But he needed branding! That's where I came in. He was familiar with my work and had this concept about incorporating either a beaver or canoe in the logo to represent the trees and name sake. We worked through a variety of concepts and sketches and finally landed on his soap business, nestled in some pine trees behind a canoe with...

LewisTech

Last month Justin Lewis of LewisTech Engineering contacted me in need of a branding identity for his company launch this August. Louisbourg Market Poster Designs

Over the past year I've had the absolute thrill of being able to be involved in the Louisbourg Market as a team member, more specifically, the Marketing Manager. Below are a few of my favorite designs from the year to date.

The Lewis Family Swordfish

When Pat Lewis contacted me about painting a swordfish for her, I wasn't quite sure what I was walking into. I don't paint much in the way of sea life but I'm certainly open to a challenge. She asked me to come out to her beautiful home overlooking Catalone lake. She talked to me about how the swordfish hung in their family store for many years and was quite iconic to the area and their family history. As is evident from this excerpt that was taken from an article about her father, Harvey Lewis, in the Cape Breton Post in 2012,...

Denise Sonmor is an incredibly talented artist from Sydney, Nova Scotia.  I had the utmost pleasure of working with Denise this week on her branding for her quickly growing business. Denise's work is seriously beautiful, she puts so much care and attention into what she creates - up until this week, she hand drew and colored all of her business cards! She wanted something that represented her earthy hippie aesthetic and with a vibrant color palette. She provided examples of her artwork and jewelry to help me with creating a sense of mood. A number of her paintings featured this beautiful...
